Shoppers in Burra now have the opportunity to be thanked for spending their money locally.
A shop local campaign has begun to increase the vitality of Burra's shopping district, thanks to the Regional Council of Goyder, the Burra Community Management Committee and Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North.
Council will provide seed funding to support the first 12 months of this campaign.
The program will be managed by the CMC with support of Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North.
This shop local campaign will comprise of loyalty cards, requiring 10 stamps, and a monthly draw for a shopping voucher to be spent with participating businesses.
The first shop local winner will be announced on Friday, December 20 at the Burra Christmas Fair - they will win a $50 voucher to spend back at any of the participating stores.
Participating businesses will be listed on posters and other promotional material, they will also be given a bundle of loyalty cards to hand out.
Businesses will receive a stamp to use on the loyalty cards, but may use their own if they wish - each purchase will receive one stamp.
For customers, when they receive 10 stamps on their card, and they complete the card with their details they can place it in the appropriate box based at the Burra Visitor Centre.
A draw will be held once a month (or the first trading day of each month) where one winner will be announced.
The merchants where the voucher is spent will be reimbursed by the Regional Council of Goyder on issue of an invoice. Council have kindly committed to supporting this promotion for 12 months.
