Whilst it might be sold out, the Sevenhill SACWA's long lunch is welcoming two 'local' identities as its special guests at the historic Hughes Park, Watervale.
Featuring Sunday Mail columnist, wine journalist and raconteur, Nick Ryan, who proudly calls the Clare Valley home, along with the ABC's political commentator, television host and author Annabel Crabb, who originally hails from Two Wells are the guests for the second installment of the successful day.
The event will have a "buy local, support local" theme with local producers showcasing their wares, supported by our two "local" special guests, Annabel and Nick.
With a friendship stretching back more than 30 years, Nick and Annabel have a bountiful chest of stories to draw from.
Attendees can expect conversation to meander through such diverse subjects as worm farming, the finer points of thoroughbred breeding, why Nick will never ask Annabel to babysit a cat ever again and how the friendship almost ended over a recipe in one of Annabel's books.
With the lunch sold out in an unprecedented 48 hours, the committee were prompted to release more tickets, expanding the event to house a record 250 guests!
The event will be raising funds for the Dorothy Dolling Memorial Fund, a scholarship to benefit students living in rural and regional South Australia in support of their studies and education along with part proceeds to Clare High School to support disadvantaged students who participate in extra-curricular activities, camps and excursions.
