With the unveiling of this year's monster raffle prize- the fabulous Christmas Stocking- all is in place for the Lions Clare Christmas Committee's program of Christmas activities.
The stocking and 13 other exciting prizes, valued at more than $5000, can be viewed at Beyond Bank.
Tickets will be on sale in many shops in Clare as well as regular selling days in the main street - all made possible by the generosity of main street businesses.
Beyond Bank and Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council are major supporters of the work of the committee and funds raised are used to buy street decorations and defray pageant costs.
The next activity on the agenda is the installation of Christmas decorations to enhance the spirit of Christmas in the street.
Again, the large Christmas tree, which has been a focal point for the Christmas celebrations, will be on display in Ennis Park from November 17.
To encourage the festive atmosphere throughout Clare, the RAA are again offering prizes for the best shop window decorated in a Christmas theme, as well as $250 for the best Christmas light display at a private residence.
All this activity will culminate in the Lions Christmas Pageant, to be held on Friday, December 6, with a start time of 6.30pm.
The pageant will start at the northern round-about, proceed south along Main North Road and conclude at the Clare Oval.
There will be at least two bands participating in the pageant as well as many old favourites and some new entries.
Awards will be given to the best float so to register your float, please contact pageant co-ordinator Trevor Mace on 0427 792 450.
There will be plenty to see and do at the pageant after party at the Clare Oval including sideshows, games, food and live entertainment from Clare's Danny Hooper - as well as a visit from Father Christmas.
Stall holders are asked to contact John Giersch on 0427 282 223 to register their interest in a site at the after party.
