Crows visit the Eagles

The impending wet weather did not deter club players and supporters attending the junior to U17's team presentation at Mortlock Park, Mintaro.

Highlight of the club's activities at the presentation was a special visit from AFL Adelaide Crows players Taylor Walker and Bryce Gibbs presenting trophies to players.

The club was fortunate to receive the donation from Allan "Spog" Weedon who won the prize in a Toyota raffle for an AFL player to visit a club.

It was decided to approach the Adelaide Football Club to have current playing identities attend the club's end of season family windup.

MinMan football director Paul Hogben said it was a great opportunity for the club and especially the younger players to meet the players, to have direct interaction with a kick and catch as well as signing autograph on a social level.

"There is a good growth prospect in the club with junior numbers in both netball and football players being exceptional at the moment," Mr Hogben said.

Mutually the players said they liked having the opportunity to visit country regional communities because they were sometimes overlooked.

They felt it enabled them to encourage the younger players to work hard if they wanted to pursue a career in sport at the highest level as well as enjoy what ever stage they finish up playing.
