It's official - Sam Kekovich will be opening the Jamestown Show.

The 2019 Jamestown Show will be officially opened by the charismatic 'Lambassador' Sam Kekovich.

Widely known for his unwavering support of the meat and lamb industry for Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Kekovich's attendance fits perfectly with the 2019 Jamestown Show Paddock to Plate theme.

Kekovich will officially open the Jamestown Show on Monday, October 7 and will also open the Paddock to Plate Pavilion on Monday morning.

He's also been lined up for a speaking gig at the show's Roundhouse bar on Sunday evening where he will share an insight into his Australian Rules football days, on and off the field.

Jamestown Show president David Cooper said the Jamestown Show committee was thrilled to have Sam Kekovich as a guest of honour this year.

"As Lambassador, Sam has achieved great publicity for Australian lamb producers, and this fits perfectly with our Paddock to Plate theme (for 2019)," Mr Cooper said.

"We are looking forward to some great story telling from Sam, about his football life and his love of Australian lamb and all things Australian.

"We are very grateful to MLA for making Sam's appearance at the Jamestown Show possible."
