Sights set on grand final

Preliminary final played at Robertstown courts on Saturday.
Under warm conditions, compared to a cool weekend prior, games were battled out for the last chance to secure a spot in the grand final competition.

A1 - BSR 34 v Eudunda Robertstown 42
Both defensive ends provided great pressure causing many turnovers, with 9 all at quarter time.
Second quarter saw a few changes made by BSR, trying to resettle, however Eudunda Robertstown maintained their pressure and drive down the court to be up at 5 at 2 nd quarter.
Jessica Geister's defensive attack and skills in the goal circle caused many turnovers giving Eudunda Robertstown the edge on BSR in the 3 rd quarter, to be up by 7.
BSR came out fighting in the 4 th , but it was the Saints who settled and took the win by 8.
A2 - South Clare 39 v Blyth Snowtown 35
Strong start for both teams with Blyth Snowtown holding a 1 goal lead at quarter time.
Second quarter was again an even contest with excellent shooting. South pushed out to a 4 goal lead.
The third quarter saw Blyth-Snowtown have the momentum with great shooting from Stacey Mugge and Kristen Allchurch to gain the lead by 3. Fourth quarter saw South capitalise on Blyth Snowtown's errors, with accurate shooting from Kristy Lewis and Isabella Rawlings, keeping possession to win by 4.
Excellent game for spectators, well played by all in tough, hot conditions.
B1 - Blyth Snowtown 47 v MinMan 34
A tough tightly contested game. Karen Palmer worked hard in defence, with accurate shooting from Blyth Snowtown's Neve Pratt.
Blyth Snowtown made the most of their intercepts. Min Man made changes in the third quarter, with Kerry Hadley providing strong defence at GD. Blyth Snowtown strengthened their lead in the last quarter and deserved to be victors on the day.
B2 - North Clare 37 v Blyth Snowtown 34
A close, even start with Kristen Carling feeding well into the Blyth Snowtown circle. North Clare's Elise Mildren kept the pressure up while Megan Boulton was strong in the centre and caused many turn overs.
Sarah Frape played well for Blyth Snowtown with them outscoring North Clare in the last quarter, but North had too bigger lead and won by 3.
C1 - North Clare 29 v Blyth Snowtown 42
Blyth Snowtown came out determined to win, having not beaten North Clare this year. Sophie Angel and Kristie Pengilly put in a strong performance in attack.
North started to have a comeback with solid efforts by Emma Rose and Alex Butterick. Blyth Snowtown lead the whole day and won convincingly by 13 goals.
C2 - BBH 31 v North Clare 25
BBH came out of the blocks to take the lead in the first quarter. North made some changes to see the margin narrow at half time.
North competed well in the last quarter, however BBH managed to hang on to take the win.
15U - Eudunda Robertstown 43 v South Clare 42
A highly skilled game played by two determined teams. The game was goal for goal all game, with never more than three goals in it.
It came down to taking opportunities and the final whistle.
J1 - North Clare 15 v South Clare 19
South started strong leading by 2 at quarter time. Imogen Hawker played well in C and Lara Jaeschke gave plenty of options at GA.
North made some changes to give them a slight comeback.
North fought strong, but South held their nerve in the last quarter, with immense pressure from Poppy Wilson and a high work rate from Ester Head.
J2 - North Clare 30 v MinMan 24
A great tight start to the match with even scores at quarter time and 1 goal difference at half time.
Great defensive pressure by North Clare's Ellora Schell and Lainey Mullighan saw many turnovers.
North played a consistent second half all over the court and took the lead at 3/4 time and finished the game off strong with great shooting.
Min Man continued to try hard right until the final whistle.
