Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, has encouraged 12-15 year olds to apply for YMCA SA Junior Parliament.

Junior Parliament will run in the October school holidays and gives young people the opportunity to learn about parliament, meet new friends and develop their leadership skills.

This apolitical program will give participants the chance to learn about democracy, parliament, team building, public speaking and leadership.

Mr van Holst Pellekaan said Junior Parliament gave young people the opportunity to have their say on issues they care about.

The program involves a three-day/two-night camp and it is open to anyone in South Australia aged 12-15.

It will be held from October 2-4, 2019. There is a participant fee of $240 which covers meals, accommodation and transport while on camp.

Application close September 20, with application forms available at www.sa.ymca.org.au/JP or phone 8200 2514.
