A Clare Valley family had a sleepless night after discovering their X Lotto entry scored them a division one prize worth over $1 million in Saturday's draw.

The family held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 3971, drawn on Saturday. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,017,643.37.

Sharing her excitement with a SA Lotteries official on Monday morning, the winner revealed her and her family had spent the night discussing their win.

"I could not believe it when I saw the numbers yesterday, my son then checked the numbers online and confirmed that we had won," she exclaimed.

"It was a beautiful day. It is a day we have wished for for so long, we were up late talking about the win and what we would do with it."

The thrilled winner revealed the family planned to upgrade their home with their million-dollar windfall.

"We have decided we are going to use our win to buy a new home somewhere warm," she declared.

The regular player, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased their 14-game marked entry at Richard's Clare Valley Terry White Chemmart.

Lotteries manager Wendy Vandeleur said she was absolutely thrilled to discover her outlet had sold it's first division one winning entry.

"We have only been selling lotteries in the outlet since February so we are thrilled to have sold such a large prize to our customers," she said

"We will be decorating the store and telling all of our customers so they all know we are a winning outlet.

"We are so happy for our winners. We hope they enjoy their prize."

The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3971 on August 10 were 39, 9, 6, 37, 1 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 11 and 45.
