Kapunda Community Gallery is celebrating SALA 2019 with 'In the Light', an exhibition of works by seven artists living in or with a close connection to the Light Region.

Following SALA, 'In the Light' will tour to three regions in SA - the Mid North, Riverland and the Limestone Coast.

Light is essential to all aspects of our lives and for the visual artist light in a painting or photograph is a key element in expressing the life, the moment and the mood of a subject.

There are various subjects in this exhibition, rural, land and seascapes, interiors, portraits, streetscapes, still lifes, each artist working in their preferred medium and approach to achieve the effects of light through colour and value.

The exhibition opens to the public on July 25 and will be formally opened on Sunday, July 28 by Steve Saffell the CEO of Country Arts SA.

In the Light will finish on September 1.

Kapunda Community Gallery is located on the corner of Main and Brown Streets, Kapunda.

It is open weekdays from 10am to 4pm, weekends and public holidays from 10am to 3.30pm. Admission is free.
