Girls' zone football

NEFL's U16 girls team has won the 2019 Central Zone Female Carnival.

Coach Tanya Bertelsmeier accepted the trophy, with the help of captain Nikita Morgan, following their undefeated game day.

NEFL's player of the day was awarded to Cher Waters of Burra.

Issy Bryksy, of MinMan, was leading goal kicker of the day with seven to her name.

Girls in the team came from throughout the North Eastern Football League.

Mrs Bertelsmeier thanked all the organisers, her team of helpers and the players for their dedication to coming out and playing for the day.

Also in the NEFL, the U13 team was runner-up to Adelaide Plains Football League.

Abbie Skinner, U13, was named best on ground for NEFL.

Girls, their families and support crews, came from throughout the zone to play at sunny Snowtown on Sunday.

The 2019 Central Zone Female Carnival saw teams from North Eastern Football League, Northern Areas Football League, Adelaide Plains Football League and Yorke Peninsula Football League take part in a round-robin clash.

Hosted by NEFL at Snowtown oval, there was plenty of action in the U13 and U16 games.
