Man arrested for murder in Peterborough

A 49-year-old Mid North man has been arrested for murder following a disturbance at Peterborough on Sunday, May 26.

Just after 1am, police were called to a disturbance at a home on Railway Terrace.

Upon arrival, police found a man had been assaulted by another man, who at the time was being treated by ambulance officers.

Sadly, the 46-year-old man from Onkaparinga Hills died at the scene.

The suspect of the murder had left prior to patrols arriving and as a result of further investigations, the 49-year-old was arrested for murder in Peterborough by Port Pirie detectives.

He is expected to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on Monday, May 27.

This is not a random incident and both parties are known to each other.

Major Crime Detectives and Forensic response are making their way to the scene from Adelaide to assist local police.
