It's not often that a significant donation gets noticed in a small country community, however a modest gathering at the Hoyleton CFS Brigade came together early April to do just that.

Thanks to a program, put in place by the Country Fire Services Volunteers Association and in conjunction with state government and Bank SA.

This program allows any interested party who takes out a new home loan with Bank SA, can nominate a CFS Brigade as a recipient for a donation from Bank SA and the CVA, because of that loan.

Hoyleton Brigade members Kurt Walter and Merey Colquhoun, did just that and through their local branch of Bank SA in Clare, a very healthy donation of $2464 was given to the Hoyleton Brigade.

The evening was attended by a number of CFS members and their families, Tim Cooper from the CVA Jamestown, Quentin Kestner Prevention Officer from Region 4 and representatives from Bank SA including Nicola Edwards the Clare Branch Manager, Lachy Heinrich Business Banking Manager and Brenton Buckby Home Loans Manager.

Tim Cooper spoke on the Country Volunteers Association's importance in the community and how this scheme was set up through the state government.

He encouraged other members who might be interested, into doing the same.

Lachy Heinrich presented the cheque to Mr. Des Gregor, Hoyleton Brigade Captain.

The Hoyleton Brigade President Mr. Leith Reinke was MC for the evening and spoke on the role of the Hoyleton Brigade in the district.
