Police kept busy with traffic incidents.

Clare police responded to a number of traffic incidents over the weekend.

About 4pm on Friday 22 February, police responded to report s of a single vehicle rollover on the Horrocks Highway at Sevenhill.

The driver, an 81-year-old woman from Penwortham sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to hospital. Her injuries are not considered life threatening.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Just before 11.30am on Saturday 23 February, police and emergency services responded to a crash on the Barrier Highway at Riverton where a Ford sedan left the road. The male driver and his female passenger avoided injury.

Police suspect fatigue was a factor which contributed to the crash.

A 71-year-old man from Heathpool was reported for driving without due care.

On Friday and Saturday evening police also detected four drink drivers in the Clare area.

A 56-year-old man from the mid-north was stopped on the Horrocks Highway at Auburn about 8.45pm on Friday 22 February and breath tested. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.098. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six month instant loss of licence and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. SAP1900045724

At 7.30pm on Saturday 23 February, police stopped a 28-year-old man from the ACT on Main North Road, Clare for a roadside breath test. The man allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.065 and was subsequently issued an on the spot fine for $673.

Police stopped a 44-year-old Victorian man driving on Main North Road at Clare at 9pm on Saturday. The man allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.078 and was subsequently issued an on the spot fine for $673.

About 1.30am on Sunday 24 February, police stopped a 37-year-old Clare man on Victoria Road, Clare and submitted him to a breath test. The man allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.165.

The man was reported for drink driving, issued a twelve month instant loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
