The United Archers ran their first Beginner’s Archery Course for six eager students over three weekends from October 21 to the November 4.

Students attended from Spalding, Brinkworth, Auburn and Blyth and it was great to see how rapidly the student’s skills progressed over the duration of the course.

The next beginner’s course will run over three Sundays in February 2019 – 10th, 17th and 24th.

Each session will run for approximately 90 minutes and the cost is $90 which includes equipment hire and range fees.

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Organisers congratulate all students on what they achieved and hope to see them at the club in the future.

Expressions of interest can be made via email to unitedarchers@outlook.com or by phoning Joanne on 041 300 4908.

In other news,  the United Archers were successful in receiving a $5,000 grant from the Wakefield Regional Council for the purchase of equipment.

This money was used to purchase bow and arrow kits and targets.

The bows and arrows were christened by the students in the beginner’s course and are available for hire on club shooting days (which are the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 2pm).
