Clare Christmas Pageant and After Party is set to draw a crowd

He’s making a list and checking it twice, and at the Clare Christmas Pageant and After Party, he’ll be finding out if you have been naughty or nice.

Father Christmas is looking forward to the upcoming Christmas Pageant set to take place at 6.30pm on Friday, December 7.

The parade will meander down the main street with Christmas floats travelling south towards Clare Town Oval, where once again, the Clare Christmas Pageant After Party will be held.

Children will be able to see Father Christmas in pride of place at the end of the parade and he will even be giving out gifts and taking requests for Christmas morning at the After Party.

Pageant night is a wonderful way to get everyone into the festive spirit and a good time for people to catch up with friends and neighbours, according to Clare Christmas Committee secretary Ron Wurst.

“It brings the community together,” he said.

“I'm always surprised at how many people line the main street to watch the pageant.”

“Its great for the kids, they love seeing Father Christmas, and parents have told me there's no need to go to Adelaide because you can see it all up here.”

There will be fabulous entertainment for the whole family with about 20 Christmas floats in parade plus food and drink stalls, entertainment for the kids such as sumo wrestling, petrol jeeps and bubble soccer, amusements, merchandise stalls and live entertainment from the Clare Primary School choir and a local DJ at the After Party.

You may have seen the Christmas Committee putting up the Christmas decorations and tree this weekend, if you get a chance to be sure to help them out by buying a stocking raffle ticket a the Lions Club, various business houses or at the pageant to go into the running to win one of 14 presents.

Prize winners will be drawn at 2.30pm on December 14 at Beyond Bank.

If you would like to enter a float in the pageant, there is still time, just email Ron Wurst at

Father Christmas and the Christmas Committee hope to see you all there and thank you for celebrating Christmas in the Clare Valley.
