Clare Valley Dressage Club held its inaugural Winter Series this year kicking off on the second weekend in June.
An unusually mild Clare winter, saw good entry numbers with 17 combinations entering the Winter Series from Preparatory through to Elementary. The surface was good for riding and not too damp under-foot.
Across the three rounds, horses competed in two tests at their nominated level – with the winners managing all six tests with very consistent riding.
Some super scores were reported in the final round including a 75.429 percent from Joy Salter riding Lad in the Novice and a 71.571 percent achieved by Charlie Penna riding Dynamic Jazzabelle.
Special mention must be given to Kirsty Stuart achieving more than 80 percent in the two novice tests.
The Young Riders proved very competitive through-out the Winter Series with Phoebe Seneca achieving a 79.615 percent in the Preliminary.
Preparatory Champion: Jane Wetherall riding Broughtonvale Royalty; Runner-up: Lisa Nietschke riding Lex Iconic.
Preliminary Champion: Phoebe Seneca riding Riverbelle; Runner-up: Michelle Reynolds riding Wadalee Obsession.
Novice Champion: Joy Salter riding Lad; Runner–up: Hazel Roberts riding Alakazam. Elementary Champion: Joy Salter riding Lad.
