Jamestown Community School year eight students Harry Reynolds and Max Jacka, have shown great community spirit and leadership through organising a barbecue at school and raising $570 for people who are battling through the drought conditions.
The boys planned the event, recruited helpers, organised orders and sought donations from local businesses.
Everyone they spoke to has been supportive and wanted to contribute further.
The boys were overwhelmed by the success of the event and have now extended their fund raising efforts to putting collection tins around the town and encouraging people to donate electronically to through the JCS school Facebook page.
If you know farmers that are battling due to drought conditions, please let the school know so the boys can speak with them and work out how their funds can be of most use to individual farms.
