Following its first Annual General Meeting this week, the Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association announced its new inaugural board members.
The Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association is a result of the recent formal amalgamation between the Clare Valley Winemakers and Clare Region Winegrape Growers Associations representing the Clare Valley Wine Industry.
Stuart McNab, a former Treasury Wine Estate executive, was recently appointed as the inaugural Independent Chair of Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association. One of its key objectives will be to further develop and communicate the strengths of Clare Valley’s wine industry with a sharp focus on the unique and diverse attributes of the region.
Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association Executive Officer Tania Matz said the new Independent Chair and Board members will both support and guide the new entity in delivering its vision.
“With a strong and diverse group of skilled industry experts accountable for overseeing and monitoring our performance, the region can be confident our new Board will make a valuable contribution to the Clare Valley Wine industry and its future.”
The new board members appointed are:

- Jeffrey Grosset
Grape Grower Board Members
- Alister Sandow
- David Travers
- Geoff Lewis
Stuart McNab, Independent Chair, commented “There was a strong field of candidates and I am confident that each board member has a clear vision for the new entity which will guide the organisation forward and ensure it fulfils its important purpose and to represent the Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association members effectively and fully.”
Mr McNab added, “each of the inaugural board members has a wealth of experience in the wine industry sector and will contribute greatly to the value of the Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association for members.”
He added “With a new higher funding base and significant project funds recently granted by Wine Australia, the new Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association is well positioned to further develop and raise the profile of Clare Wine industry.”
