The chief executive officer (CEO) of the District Council of Orroroo Carrieton, Mr Kristen Clark has tendered his resignation.

His departure has been described as regrettable yet is due to family circumstances.

Chairman Cr Kathie Bowman has thanked Kristen for his commitment and enthusiasm since taking over the position.

She says he has provided a valued support to the successful strategic directions that council has embarked on over recent years.

“While it is disappointing we are losing him, we view this as an opportunity for council to again recruit a person who not only has local government expertise, but one who appreciates the advantages of living and being part of a healthy rural lifestyle”, Cr Bowman said.

Council will begin the recruitment process, but due to the upcoming council elections, it will be the duty of the new council to decide and make the appointment.

In the interim, council have appointed Mr Graeme Maxwell as acting CEO.

Mr Maxwell has recently retired as CEO of the City of Victor Harbor and comes highly recommended.

Council will be looking for a new CEO who will be able to lead the council and community into an exciting period of growth.
