Clare Classic organisers have said a decision has not yet been made on the event’s future.
Northern Argus reported this week that the Gran Frodo had been cancelled for 2019 after Clare and Gilbert Valleys Councillors voted against contributing $15,000 in funding.
Event organiser James Yaffa clarified the future of the event had not yet been determined.
Discussions regarding the event are due to take place sometime over the next six to eight weeks with an announcement to follow.
Mr Yaffa said there would be no further comment until a decision had been reached.
The Clare Classic has so far secured $15,000 in funding thanks to a grant from the South Australian Tourism Commission.
About 900 riders took part during the debut race in April 2018.
