Clare High School’s gymnasium was chock full of local businesses and eager students for the second annual Careers Expo.
Organised by the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Youth Advisory Committee in conjuction with Clare High, the Expo gave students the opportunity to speak with and ask questions to a number of representatives from a broad range of industries.
These industries included everything from the Armed Forces to veterinary science to video production and everything in between.
Representatives from education institutes Flinders University, University of South Australia and TAFE SA were also present, giving students interested in furthering their studies the opportunity to discuss their options.
Beginning at 1pm, students in years 10, 11 and 12 from Clare High toured the tables with students from Eudunda Area School also joining in this year.
Following the completion of the expo at 3pm, stalls were moved into the Clare High campus for an evening session targeted at both parents and students.
The SACE information session ran from 4pm to 8pm, with the aim to give parents and students a better understanding of subject selection heading into senior school.
It is hoped that students from other schools in the region will attend in the coming years as the event continues to grow.
