A wet start to August for region

In what has been a long-awaited drenching of rain, the past week has seen significant rainfalls in towns throughout the region.

With a drier than usual winter, some towns have received decent soakings.

High winds on Saturday were present in the area as the change blew through the region. On Monday, weather brought with it constant winds, rain, sunshine and even hail in some areas – including Auburn and near Saddleworth.
