Clare United team scores freely

The Under 18 sides from Clare and AMU took to the field on a blustery day. Play started with Clare quickly driving into attack where they were awarded two short corners but were unable to score.

The ball was kept in the Clare attacking circle where Bizi Cornwell managed to score a goal after a pass. Another short corner was soon awarded to Clare and with quick passing Ella Cornwell managed to find the backboard.

Clare’s Nick Lawrie soon scored a goal off of another short corner and was soon followed up by Mitchell Lawrie also finding the backboard for Clare. Another short corner was awarded but Clare was unable to convert.

Thomas Lymburn soon put his name on the score card minutes after the short corner which was soon followed up by another unsuccessful one.

The second half had both teams playing strongly with the ball being sent to either ends of the field.

But Clare was soon awarded two short corners in quick succession but were unable to score.

Great work from both teams as the ball travelled up and down the field.

Clare was again awarded two short corners but were unable to find the backboard. As the match was rounding to its conclusion Isaac Hamann added his two goals to the card.

UNDER 14

With the sun shining bright, Clare and Balaklava took to the field. Balaklava went out hard taking charge early but as Clare began to warm up so did their game.

Mitch, from Clare, played the midfield with great enthusiasm, however, so did Nick from Balaklava. As the half time whistle blew the score remained at 0-0 with both teams fighting hard.

In the second half Kasey and Patrick, from Balaklava, showed great persistence and both sides presented with multiple short corners but were unable to score.

Royce,Clare, missed a goal, hitting the goal post resulting in a 16. Cass, Clare, and the goalie had spectators on their feet as the two had a one-on-one but Balaklava’s goalie was too good and Clare was unable to score.

Will Upton’s game was on point with his great tackling, positioning, and support through the midfield. The score remained at 0-0 for the final whistle.

The second game of the day between Balaklava and Burra was well contested by both teams. 

During the first half the ball seesawed between the two ends.

Both teams defended well and each team fought hard for goals.

The first goal of the game was scored by Balaklava after Nick Lawrie ran the ball down from the opposition’s end.

Soon after Burra was able to score a goal thanks to Jed Devine.

Balaklava responded with another quick goal after Kasey Cunningham and Nick Lawrie worked together well. 

During the second half no goals were scored but both teams worked hard and there were some close calls on goal. 

Both teams played well and it was great to see all team members giving their best.
