“I’m excited to meet other students involved in the program, learn more about the challenges and trends across the agricultural sector and how I can make a positive impact on the future of Australian agriculture.”

AgriFutures Australia managing director, John Harvey congratulated the students on their success and welcomed the up-and-coming leaders to the AgriFutures™ Horizon Scholarship program.

“We are thrilled to welcome the 2018 cohort, who were selected from a talented pool of over 200 applicants. These students are the future leaders of Australian agriculture and it’s very exciting to have them as part of our AgriFutures™ Horizon Scholarship program.

“Our scholarship program sets a path for students to experience career options they may not otherwise be exposed to, with the specific aim to set the students up for a long and successful career in agriculture,” said Mr Harvey.

All students on the AgriFutures™ Horizon Scholarship program will attend a four day workshop in Wagga Wagga NSW in July, focused on leadership and personal development, underpinned by the theme of “Game Changers”.

The workshop will feature special guest speakers, industry experts, field trips and the opportunity to network, meet sponsors and discuss innovations and challenges in the agricultural sector.
