The 2018 North Eastern Football League kicked off on Saturday.

Games were held at Clare, Mintaro, Snowtown and Riverton.

There were a few upsets on the cards to begin the season with last year’s Premiers B.S.R falling to Blyth/Snowtown 9.6.60 to 6.8.44.

Southern Saints also upset South Clare 8.5.53 to 10.8.68.

Elsewhere, last years grand ffinalists R.S.M.U defeated dismantled North Clare 13.15.93 to 5.4.34.

B.B.H also triumphed over Mintaro-Manoora 7.3.45 to 11.10.76.

In Round 2, B.B.H will host Southern Saints at Burra, North Clare will welcome Blyth/Snowtown to Clare Oval, Min-Man will take on B.S.R at Mintaro and R.S.M.U will meet South Clare at Riverton to wrap up the round.
