South Clare Netball Club have high hopes for the 2018 season, with the A1 side aiming for the finals after just missing out on making the four last season.
After playing in finals all but two years across the past 13 years, the Demons have the strength, skill and determination to get them to the top.
A1 coach Katie Liebelt is back for her 14th year and said the team is focussing on being able to make the four again this year.
“The squad has been committed to working on their fitness outside of training which meant we were able to start on the court a lot earlier than we normally would,” she said.
The numbers at trials have also been positive across all grades.
“We had more than 70 girls come out to trail for our senior team which is very exciting for our club,” Katie said.
There has been a shift in the team this year with a number of players out for various reasons, meaning there is more room for the J1s to come into the senior ranks this year.
Tegan Barton is taking a year off, Kirsty Reynolds and Fiona Caulfield are out due to injury, Bri Smith is taking a year off to play on Kangaroo Island and Emma Waters and Kathy Woodrow are also out.

Talented young Ellie Falconer will also not be returning as she is committed in Adelaide at the elite level.
Lisa Ward is back from a year off with a baby and Kristy Lewis has also returned.
“Hailey Koch has returned to the club after a year of travelling overseas and will bring a lot of strength to our defence,” Katie said.
“We’re really looking forward to settling our new team and then seeing how we compete against other changing outfits in the league.”
While changes on the court are imminent this season, coaches across all grades will remain fairly stable with Kathy Woodrow coaching the A2.
“We are really excited by the coaches we have throughout the club including our juniors,” Katie said.
South Clare will be debuting their new uniform in their first game of the season on April 13, which is against 2017 premiers Eudunda/Robertstown.
There will be a family fun night upstairs after the presentations.
