Regional Council of Goyder announces Australia Day winners

Notable citizens of the Regional Council of Goyder will soon be presented with their Australia Day awards.

Burra Ward of the Regional Council of Goyer will host their community breakfast at the Thomas Pickett Reserve, Bridge Terrace, Burra, from 8am. 

Recipients of this year’s Australia Day citizen of the year awards include: 

Citizen of the Year: Shirley Broad

Young Citizen of the Year: Jacqueline Quinn

Community Event of the Year: Burra AGL Country Music Festival

Community Achievement Award: Robin Roach

Community Achievement Award: Jennifer Abbott

Community Achievement Award: Jock Duncan

In Hallett, Jan Haustorfer will be presented her certificate for citizen of the year. 

Jan will be presented her award on Friday, January 26, at the community breakfast, Hallett Hall Supper Rooms, Hallett from 8am. 

The Robertstown Ward will celebrate Australia Day with a community breakfast at the Robertstown Oval, from 8am. Friday 26th January, Community Breakfast, Robertstown Oval, Robertstown, commencing at 8am

Robertstown’s citizen of the year is Toni Brown, while the Robertstown Strawberry Fete with Twilight Market has been awarded the event of the year. 

Eudunda will celebrate their annual Australia Day breakfast at the Centenary Gardens from 8am. 

All are welcome and encouraged to attend. 

This year’s citizen of the year will be presented to both Julie and Trevor Mathews, Kayla Steinborner will receive the young citizen of the year and the Eudunda Christmas Street Party was named the community event of the year.
