Our November meeting was our 17th birthday and we commenced with singing both the Probus song and our National Anthem.
A minute’s silence for late member Betty Willmott was held as a few photos of Betty played on the screen.
President Marie Spinks welcomed new member Joan Hoskin.
Joan’s photo was taken with two other new members, Mary Holmes and Robert Underdown.
The usual business, morning tea along with a good chit chat was held before the raffle was drawn.
Guest Claire Fuller drew the raffle but before doing so she told us about her Probus Club in Cleve.
Barry Budarick attached the plaque in memory of Gwen Pudney to our new computer bought with the help of the Pudney family.
The hospitality girls then had a lovely lunch prepared for us of cold meat and salads.
Vice president Fred Adams said Grace but Jan Duggin and Jan Kroon recited different versions of Grace too.
A birthday cake for dessert ended a good day.
On Friday, December 1, a small bus load of members and friends attended the SA Police Band performance at Pt Pirie.
We had front row seats (first time I reckon) for a very enjoyable concert with an excellent Christmas theme.
Lunch was enjoyed at Solomontown Sports Centre before coming home along the “Cattle Track” as part of our journey.
Our Christmas meeting is being held early on Wednesday, December 6, with Clare Bowling Club catering for us in their clubrooms.
Wishing all members a Safe and Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
