Clare-based financial advice specialist Kells and Co was recognised for its business growth, business efficiency, advice quality and customer service at the NAB Excellence Awards.
The Kells and Co team, which includes Jeremy Kells, Jessica Ekman and Alicia Thomas, surpassed other NAB licensed businesses across SA and NT to win NAB’s SA/NT 2017 Quality Advice Business award, on November 24.
Kells & Co director and principal consultant Jeremy Kells, who set up the Godfrey Pembroke licensed business in 2012, acknowledged his team and local partnerships for their role in the business’ success.
“This achievement is a team effort and wouldn’t be possible without Jess and Alicia’s expertise and hard work,” Mr Kells said.
“They play a crucial part in helping our clients confidently and successfully manage their finances into retirement.”
“And our business growth is largely thanks to the support from our existing clients and local partnerships. There’s a healthy network of professional businesses in the Mid North who support each other.”
Kells and Co, located across from the Clare Oval at 165 Main North Road, principally assists clients preparing for retirement by providing coaching and financial advice around investment strategy options, wealth accumulation and superannuation.
It is backed by Mr Kells’s solid career in financial services, which spans more than 18 years, including work at a “big four” bank, roles in lending and private banking and experience in financial planning practices.
Mr Kells, who was elected to the Clare and Gilbert Valley’s Council in 2014, is buoyed by the prospects for young professionals in the region.
“I think the Clare Valley punches above its weight in terms of the skills and expertise it offers to the Mid North,” he said.
“There’s certainly plenty of opportunity for young, professional careers to take off in this region. The growth of Kells and Co during the past five years shows that locals are recognising the expertise that’s available here. There’s no need to drive to Adelaide to access award-winning service and advice.”
Jeremy accepted the Quality Advice Business award at a function at the Adelaide Convention Centre, accompanied by wife Carmen.
