The Clare Valley was abuzz with sporting action this weekend.

In the Mid North Saturday Pennants, Saddleworth welcomed Blyth to Saddleworth Green and Clare Green played host to a number of games across the divisions which was highlighted by Clare Gold taking on Auburn in division 1 action.

Elsewhere, Spalding welcomed first placed Watervale, Robertstown played host to Clare Blue and Mintaro travelled north to take on Burra.

Watervale recorded their first loss of the last the week prior with an upset loss to Auburn.

The Red Devils held a one point lead over second placed Clare Gold heading into round 7 of the Saturday Pennants.

Saddleworth finally got off the mark in round 7 with a convincing win away to Mintaro.

Despite this, Saddleworth remained in last place and nine points behind their closest opponents.

The competition is beginning to heat up with not much to separate the teams in division 1.
