Lower North Zone Strikers Girls School Cricket League | GALLERY

On Friday morning a number of girls took part in the biggest school cricket league in Australia.

Students from primary and high schools in the Mid North region, as well as from the Yorke Peninsula, Jamestown and Port Pirie, participated in the Lower North Zone Strikers Girls School Cricket League.

A total of 33 school teams were nominated to take part.

Games were spread across six ovals, with Years 6/7 playing at both Clare Oval and Clare High, Year 8 at Saddleworth Oval, Year 9 at Balaklava Oval, Year 10 at Kapunda Oval and students with disabilities at Mintaro.

Begining at 10am and ending at 2pm, the games were played using a T12 format with each team of eight playing three games.

Two training sessions will also be held with the Mid North or Barossa Strikers Girls Leagues.
