Horse owners, property managers and agistees are invited to attend a workshop being put on by Horse SA this coming Monday, November 13, at 7pm at the Clare Showground.
Speakers will be Horse SA executive officer Julie Fiedler and Andy Cole, a small farm land management advisor.
“Small property owners often feel left out when it comes to relevant land management advice,” Ms Fiedler said.
“The primary purpose of the property may not be commercial in the traditional farming sense, yet informed decisions still need to be made every day which affect the health of the horse and land sustainability.”
Andy Cole’s presentation will cover weeds, pasture and maintaining groundcover before a more practical session where participants can bring along paddock weeds and grasses for identification and advice on how to better manage them.
Ms Fiedler will also present on horse property management as it relates to the welfare of horses.
Further information can be found at horsesa.asn.au.
The free session is supported by the Northern and Yorke Natural Resources Management Board.
