Probus Club of Clare enjoyed an interesting meeting for its October get together.
Guest speaker Ray Johnson, an amateur astronomer and son of member Win Jonson, gave insight into many things the audience didn’t know.
Ray showed and told the members most interesting things most have not seen - the beauty of the stars and galaxies we can’t see by our eyes. One needs a large telescope.
Ray told us that many are millions of light years away.
President Herman Weber called a minute silence at the meeting for Meryl Kelly and Mary Walsh who have passed.
Graham Clarke reported the Monarto Zoo trip was enjoyed by those who went and reminded members about the Christmas dinner, to be held on November 28 at the Clare Bowling Club.
