Burra Early Learning Centre has received a donation of fencing materials to improve car park safety.
The Regional Council of Goyder has contributed hardwood posts and rails for the work which completes a section of fencing at the centre’s car park in Bridge Terrace, which will be consistent with council’s fencing installations around the region.
Councillors recently visited the centre’s car park and agreed the work was a priority.
The centre’s governing chairperson Jess Tiver said some additional simple changes would also increase safety for the children.
“These changes involve clear line marking, some bumpers for parking, new signage for entry and exit points and crossing signs in this zone,” Ms Tiver wrote in a letter to Council.
The changes were implemented in the Term 3 holidays.
More than 30 families access the centre, while school families also use the car park on a regular basis.
