Wirrabara Bowling Club will soon replace a worn out mower and roller thanks to Stronger Communities Program funding.

A grant of $7818 has been made available to the group.

Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he was pleased the club would have the opportunity to purchase equipment to assist in maintaining greens and achieving a quality bowling surface for competition.

“This will mean the club can host events in the North Western Bowling Association Competition,” Mr Ramsey said.

“The current equipment has issues with safety  and is not worth repairing.”

Mr Ramsey said being able to maintain the surface to its highest quality ensured the viability of the club and would see it  positively benefit.

“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”

The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects in each of the 150 Federal Electorates.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the programme were highly successful, with more than 3,000 projects funded across Australia.
