Taking place Thursday afternoon.

The Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources will be conducting a prescribed burn at Spring Gully Conservation Park sometime today.

It is expected that the burn size will cover 5.2 hectares in the eastern section of the reserve around 3 kilometres from Sevenhill.

Smoke may be visible from Sevenhill and surrounding areas with Saw Mill Road to be affected.

emergency vehicles will be present in the area and it is advised that the area be avoided where possible, or to exercise caution when in the vicinity.

The prescribed burn is to reduce fuel loads to prevent the spread of bushfire in the area and should be completed by 8PM later tonight.

Fire Danger Season has also been declared to begin next Wednesday on November 1 by the South Australian Country Fire Service.

The declaration is relevant to the whole of the Mid North district with restrictions on fires under the Fire and Emergency Service Act of 2015 to apply.

It is advised that residents begin to prepare their homes ahead of summer.
