Another successful turnout for the annual event

Children and adults alike flocked to Clare Town Hall on Friday for the annual St Joseph’s School and Sevenhill Parish fete.

Kicking off at 9.30am, excitement was high to get through the doors and purchase some of the goodies on sale.

There was something for everyone on display, with everything from plants and art to produce and baked goods.

Of course, the lolly stall was a hit with the students.

The annual art show was also once again on show on the Town Hall’s stage with some fantastic art works by the students entered.

St Joseph’s principal Peter Shearer said he enjoyed seeing the community come together once again to create another successful fete.

“It was great to get both the school and parish community to work together and to provide what is an entertaining day for the kids and the wider community.”

Mr Shearer said the fete was one of the highlights of the year for both the students and the local community.

“The kids really look forward to the day, it is one of the highlights and they love going down and buying things for themselves and their families,” he said.

“It is something we provide for the wider community and we get lots of people travelling from out of town to attend the fete.”

The money raised from the school fete would be put towards upgrading St Joseph’s ICT department.

Mr Shearer wished to thank both Allison Mason and Bernie Masterman who had helped organise the fete for the last three installments, as well as all the stall convenors.
