Moving house? Be sure to secure your load

A Burra man was issued an 'on the spot fine' for more than $400 for an insecure load after he was stopped last night at Burra.

At about 8.30pm on Friday, August 11, local police stopped the fully laden ute complete with double bed frame, mattress and other personal belongings on George Street at Burra in the state's Mid North.

Not only is this load insecure but dangerous to other road users, not to mention it was also obstructing the driver's view.

The 38-year-old man was issued with an 'on the spot fine' for having an insecure/dangerous load.

The total fine was $409.

If you are moving house this weekend, hire a truck, van or trailer and secure the load properly with tie-downs and ropes.
