The Hills and Valleys Lifestyle Centre has a new centre manager after Ben Whalan was employed to fill the role.
Mr Whalan moved to the Clare Valley to take up the role after working with the YMCA in the northern suburbs of Adelaide for the past 11 years.
Starting by volunteering for Craigmore OSHC, he then moved on to become programs coordinator at the John McVeity Centre, as well as working in various other roles at the Aquadome, in Elizabeth.
The Valleys Lifestyle Centre said in a statement on Facebook it was excited to see the growth of the centre under Mr Whalan’s leadership.
“His YMCA knowledge and experience is going to be a great asset to The Valleys and we are excited to see the centre grow and develop over coming months under his guidance,” it stated
Mr Whalan is also a sports fanatic, having participated in a range of codes over the years. As well as bringing years of experience to the role, he has brought his wife and two daughters, aged 8 and 6, along with him.
