Earlier this month, in Glenelg’s win against Adelaide, Brinkworth-Spalding-Redhill Todd Slade joined the ranks of SANFL league footballers from the North Eastern Football League.
At 191cm and 88kg, Slade has the capacity to play at both ends of the ground. On debut the 19-year-old joined a special group of footballers, kicking a goal with his first kick at SANFL league level.
Glenelg senior coach Matt Lokan said Slade was good in hi first match.
“They were two impressive goals in his first hit out and Todd has the ability to play as a tall forward or defender,” Lokan said.
“His versatility and ability to use the ball are real strength.
Another BSR Tigers talent, Nick Hayes, will play his 50th SANFL league game with the Woodville West Torrens Eagles this weekend. At AFL level Riley Knight played in the Crows game against St. Kilda and did enough to get another game tomorrow night in the clash against Hawthorn.
