We’re half way through Clare with Fresh Eyre and the weather hasn’t left sour grapes in anyone’s glasses. The month-long wine and seafood event celebrates the release of the Clare Valley’s new vintage rieslings.
Foods are matched with the wines at a series of long lunches, degustations, tastings, chill out sessions and more.

Tania Matz, chief executive officer of Clare Valley Winemakers, said the event aims to drive visitation to the region and educate the public that Riesling is a drink of choice with seafood.
“Clare with Fresh Eyre is about matching this premium combination of Riesling and seafood and collectively enhancing both regional brands,” she said.
Over the whole month of October, organisers are expecting more than 1500 visitors to the region that would potentially be attending one or some of the events on the program.
A major event is the Clare with Fresh Eyre Showcase on Saturday, October 22 at Sevenhill. This is a relaxed day to showcase Clare Valley Riesling and Eyre Peninsula seafood.
There will be live music, food by 1802 Oyster Bar and Bistro and Terroir Auburn, relaxed seating and coffee. People can simply buy their plate of food and a glass or bottle of wine to consume at the event and enjoy the atmosphere.
