Plan to promote wider Goyder

The Goyder Visitor Information Centre in Burra is back under council management for the first time in more than 10 years.

The Goyder Visitor Information Centre in Burra is back under council management for the first time in more than 10 years.

The Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre is once again under the management of the Regional Council of Goyder.

After more than 10 years of management, the Burra Regional Tourism and Business Association approached council to take over operations.

Council CEO David Stevenson thanked the Tourism and Business Association for their work with the Visitor Centre over the past 10 years, and said that it would now move in a more modern direction.

Mr Stevenson also said that the centre would promote the wider Goyder region, not just Burra.

“We want to make sure we are Goyder wide,” he said. “It is called the Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre but it has been for a little while a bit Burra centric, so we want to make sure visitors to our region understand we are a very elongated region starting south of Eudunda and going north of Burra.

As of November 1, the Visitor Centre was back in the hands of council.
