Police at the scene of a serious crash on Augusta Highway

Major Crash are investigating a fatal crash near Lake View, between Snowtown and Redhill, where two people have died.

Just after 12.30am this morning, Thursday, June 15, police and emergency crews were called to the Augusta Highway after reports of a Nissan 4WD having rolled.

The driver, a 26-year-old man and a passenger, an 18-year-old woman, both from Western Australia, died at the scene.

Two other occupants, a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old man who are also both from Western Australia, were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Efforts are still being made to contact the next of kin in Western Australia.

The Augusta Highway was closed for some time but has since re-opened to all traffic.

The deaths bring the State’s road toll to 38 as compared to 39 for the same time last year.
