Gulnare hosted the most recent meeting of the Northern Areas History Group which was held on Sunday, April 30, in the Gulnare Hall.
More than 25 people attended from the history groups within the Northern Areas Council district as well as visitors from the Brinkworth History Group.
The meeting was chaired by John Prest who also gave a fascinating talk about the Bundaleer Cemetery.
Little is known about the burials in this tiny remote cemetery but John has undertaken extensive research and shared his findings with the group.
Members also had the opportunity to view the memorabilia display and the many historic photographs relating to the Gulnare District.
The Northern Areas History Group was formed in 2000 and consists of the various history groups within the geographic area of the Northern Areas Council.
Each of the local history groups operates independently but the whole group comes together twice each year to share experiences and to facilitate the preservation and promotion of local history.
The next meeting will be held in Jamestown.
