Burra is gearing up for a number of local events in the months to come, including the Vintage and Antique Fair and Spring Garden Expo.
Known for its friendly people and beautiful scenery, Burra will play host to a number of visitors between now and the end of the year.
The Vintage and Antique Fair will be held on May 6 and 7 at the Burra Town Hall and the Burra Community School Gym.
The fair will play host to antique dealers from across South Australia and Victoria and will include appraisals by experts in the field.
Other attractions over the weekend will include a vintage telephone display, a vintage car display, the golf club auction and various market stalls.
The weekend will also play host to the Burra Bargain Bonanza, which will involve three teams competing to see who gets the most at auction for their purchases earlier in the day.
Later on in the year, the town will host the Burra Spring Expo and Open Gardens Weekend.
The event will include talks, demonstrations, workshops, plant sales, garden art and a historic display which will reflect on Burra's relationship with gardens over the years.
This event is scheduled to take place in the Burra Town Hall on November 3 and 4 and will be opened by renowned author and authority on gardening Trevor Nottle.
Approximately 14 gardens will take part in the event.
