It might be the middle of October, but it won’t be long until we hear the sounds of Christmas down the main street of Clare and surrounding towns.

It’s also less than eight weeks until the Clare Christmas Pageant.

The 2016 Clare Christmas Pageant & After Party will be held on Friday, December 2, starting at 6.30pm in Clare’s Main Street.

Clare Christmas Committee member Ron Wurst said the pageant would go back to its original roots and finish at the town oval, but the party would be just as much fun.

This year the pageant will travel from north to south – unlike recent years when it has started at the oval and finished with the after party at Inchiquin Lake.

There will be food and drink stalls, along with entertainment and Father Christmas will also make an appearance. With the pageant in mind, there’s plenty of other activities on the Christmas Committee’s calendar.

Soon you’ll see the Christmas decorations throughout Clare’s Main Street, including the giant Christmas tree in Ennis Park. While the ever-popular Christmas stocking raffle will begin on November 11 and continue through until December 9 and this year, there’s plenty of prizes up for grabs.

On top of all of this, there’s also the Christmas lights competition which Clare’s RAA have sponsored with $500 – $250 prize for the best business and best private residence.
