Serious crash at Virginia

A young girl has been rushed to the Women's and Children's Hospital in a critical condition after a car rolled near Virginia this morning.

Just after 10am, a Holden station wagon travelling north on Port Wakefield Road rolled just south of Virginia.

A 12-year-old girl seated in the rear of the car received critical injuries and was rushed to the Women's and Children's Hospital for treatment.

A 30-year-old woman and two other children, a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Port Wakefield Road was closed for some time while Major Crash Investigators attended the scene but has since reopened to all traffic.
