Team event restructured for Clare Valley Run

24 Feb, 2010 08:53 AM
If it’s running in a team that you enjoy while taking in the cool atmosphere of the Riesling Trail, the Clare Valley Fun Run/Walk may be for you.

The team event this year consists of four runners who will run a two-kilometre track along a route on the Riesling Trail.

“We understand some people can’t run five to 10 kilometres by making the teams relay a bit shorter it keeps it open for all ages and fitness levels and it will give the teams and members a chance to compete against each other,” Clare Valley Fun Run/Walk committee member Andrew Waters said.

This year the changeover will not incorporate a final up hill run of Arthur Street, it will include part of the hill then turn right in to the Clare Primary School oval.

This changeover is also where races will start and finish in all categories. “It’s good for pre-season fitness and some extra training.

“The change over will give the spectators something to see at the end and will keep everyone involved,” he said.

Teams can be made up of four people, whether you are students, parents, a family or in-between the organisers are encouraging everyone to enter the competition to have a bit of fun and enjoy the Riesling Trail for the day.
