FINAL SCORE: SOUTH CLARE 12.12-84 d EUDUNDA 11.6-72
South Clare coach Matt Vandeleur thought the game was a dour struggle but was happy to win the game.
“It was certainly a dour struggle, we started off a bit slow and never put scoreboard pressure on them, twelve goals twelve or something like that where as last week we were able to kick goals and put a lot of scoreboard pressure on the opposition, we just missed them this week. We had a couple of quality blokes back in defence today with Darey and Lehmann and we’ve got a fairly strong back-line with Clokey and Sanford as well, they were both good and that’s where we’re trying to build most of our attacks from,” Vandeleur said.
Eudunda coach Adam Turrell said it was a tough game and thought his team put four quarters together.
“It was a pretty tough game, I think we played our first full four-quarter game, we had too many lapses through the first half, particularly skill errors in the first quarter that let us down so that’s probably it. Credit to the boys though, they played well for four quarters, we fought it out but I think we’re relying on too few at the moment,” said Turrell.
