Martial arts display turns heads in Clare

18 Nov, 2009 09:55 AM
Boars Martial Arts (North) would like to thank its members, associated parents and the people of Clare for their support of our inaugural fundraiser – a sausage sizzle at Mitre 10 on Saturday, October 31.

During the day club members displayed a variety of martial arts skills including high kicking, throws and the use of breaking boards to attract the attention of passers-by with great success.

In all, almost $200 was raised and several new recruits were (hopefully) enlisted.

We would like to make a special thank you to Mitre 10 for the use of their facilities and to Shihan Tony and his family for making the trek from Adelaide.

If you missed the display but want to see what we do, we train at the Clare High School Gym on Thursday nights during term time. Training times are 5.30pm for Juniors (under 14s) and 6.30pm for Seniors. The first 2 lessons are free.

For more information contact Tony Sable 0413 676 017 or Jo Napper 041 300 4908.
